Background
Kristina Halbig is a Laboratory Informatics Scientist and QA Engineer at SynapticSci. Before moving into laboratory informatics, she spent nearly a decade working in analytical chemistry, with experience in method development and validation, laboratory quality systems, LIMS, analytical instrumentation, and training.
Today, Kristina uses that laboratory experience to help ensure that software works the way scientists need it to. At SynapticSci, she leads QA activities including test strategy, test case development, defect investigation, and release readiness. She also has a background in data science and Python and is especially interested in the intersection of laboratory science, data, and software.
Bench work
I always loved the idea that you could hand me a sample and, with the right method and instrumentation, I could tell you what was in it and how much was there, sometimes down to parts per billion. There was something really satisfying about making something essentially invisible measurable.
